    Senior Cognos Developer

    Location:  Chantilly , VA

    Long Term with possibility to convert after 6 Months

     

    US Citizen, Green Card, GC-EAD

     

    In-Person Interview Mandatory 

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for identifying, defining, documenting and developing data analytics solutions that support the customer. 
    • Performing data analysis to understand and identify data relationships
      Proposing reporting solutions that best present the information to the end user
    • Developing data models that to best support reporting
    • BI tool development in COGNOS and Tableau. 
    • Work with business users to identify their Business Intelligence needs and jointly develop solutions through leveraging all available reporting options. This may include building prototype dashboards and reports to proactively demonstrate basic to advanced functionality to the business users.
    • Develop, publish, and maintain Framework Manager and Transformer models.
    • Conduct code reviews and unit testing.
    • Work in collaboration with various roles in Data Warehousing / BI development efforts (developer, tester, lead, PM, business analyst, etc.) including conducing peer reviews, information sharing sessions, estimating activities, and customer presentations.

    Requirements:

    • Experience in Enterprise Data Analytics Warehouse environment supporting business and data analysis.
    • Experience in core Cognos modules (Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Query Studio, Business Insights Advanced and the Cognos SDK, and Metric Studio).
    • Industry business intelligence knowledge including current industry trends and challenges, including data quality approaches.
    • Tableau experience is a plus.
