    Release Manager

    Location: Reston, VA

    Long Term Contract

     

    US Citizen , Green Card, GC-EAD and H1B - - Clearable to Public Trust

    In-Person Interview Mandatory

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Forward Plan the release windows and iterations across a portfolio
    • Coordinate release content with the development teams
    • Manage dependencies between different teams at different locations
    • Plan and manage all release activities
    • Produce deployment and implementation plans
    • Work with the development team to understand impacts of branches and code merges
    • Maintain the release schedule ensures alignment across the development teams and key partners
    • Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
    • Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.
    • Participate in the development of scripts and automation (CI/CD pipeline) tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms
    • Participate in meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks
    • Maintain and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
    • Research new software development and configuration management methodologies and technologies and analyzes their application to current configuration management needs

     

    Skills Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
    • 3-6 years of previous experience in release Management; planning and management of release schedule
    • 5-8 years of experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development
    • Experience in developing scripts using Unix Shell a plus
    • Experience using automation tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, Serena SDA experience a huge plus)
    • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle, including agile development
    • Technically competent and organized to understand all dependencies, details and procedures required to achieve approvals
    • Demonstrated ability to partner with development teams to deliver releases Advanced written and verbal communication skills

     

    Desired Skills:

    • Oracle WebLogic experience
    • Previous Experience with CMS
